When marketing on social media, there are a lot of techniques and methods that can help boost how many people see your advertisement and therefore your product.
One of these boosts that’s not as easy to pull off is Viral Marketing. Viral marketing refers to a piece of content online that is shared almost everywhere with many people seeing it, spreading across the internet like a virus. This has to be dealt with in the correct manner, as due to the number of people that could potentially see it, there is the risk that something that is said or done can be taken the wrong way and therefore a viral campaign can help you but it can also harm you. It is important that you do not try to push your own ad content too often as this can be seen as spam, instead let the internet do its thing and hope it takes off. (Fraile, updated 2020)
When using social media as a way of marketing, many interested people will likely go to or through your profile page almost daily, Therefore, it is important that you design the page to suit what you require from it. The page could use artwork and images from your product or be branded with the product/game or company to really personalise the account and make it appealing.
Another method to increase your social media presence is through interacting with engagement. Many a time you can and will see people asking questions to companies or developers on twitter looking for an answer and they expect a reply that is prompt and informs them on their query. Therefore, to keep a fan-base happy, it would be a good idea to be present on social media platforms to answer questions, give updates and even communicate with others such as other developers. This can increase your brand presence and though not directly, may lead to newer fans or new sales of your product. (Eckstein, 2018)
